Job Overview
We are looking for a Junior Electronics Design Engineer to join our multidisciplinary technology development team in Oulu. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to learn broadly, combining electronics with materials, illumination, mechanics, and physics, while gaining hands-on experience in developing new IMSE solutions. We are not looking for a specialist for a narrow field like PCB layout engineering. Instead, you will support solution development, contribute to knowledge creation, and help produce high-quality content for TactoTek Online, our customer-facing knowledge transfer platform.
Key Responsibilities
Technology and Solution Development
Support the development of new IMSE solutions together with senior engineers
Participate in IMSE research, prototyping, and method verification from a hardware perspective
Collaborate with experts in mechanics, illumination, software, and materials to build robust multidisciplinary solutions
Knowledge Transfer and Customer Support
Assist in creating and maintaining content for TactoTek Online (design guidelines, methods, examples)
Support senior colleagues in customer trainings and technical explanations
Documentation and Testing Support
Prepare and update technical documentation, design notes, and basic specifications
Support lab work, prototype builds, and measurement activities
Design for Manufacturing
Learn how to ensure that electronics-related IMSE concepts meet manufacturing feasibility and quality requirements
Contribute to improving internal design practices and tools
We Expect You to Have
BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field
Basic understanding of electronics design and strong enthusiasm to grow into a multidisciplinary role
Curiosity about materials, illumination, and software topics
Hands-on approach and willingness to work in lab and prototype environments
Familiarity with electronics design tools (Altium, Mentor, Eagle, or similar) is an advantage
Good communication and technical writing skills in English
Proactive, collaborative, and eager to learn
Additional Beneficial Competences
Interest or experience in material technologies
Basic software or scripting skills
Knowledge of EMC fundamentals
Exposure to printed electronics
Understanding of basic physics principles relevant to electronics
Any teaching or training experience (e.g., labs, tutoring)
