Job Overview
We are looking for a Senior Electronics Design Engineer to join our multidisciplinary technology development team in Oulu. This role suits an engineer who enjoys working across a broad technology spectrum, combining electronics, materials, illumination, mechanics, and physics, with a primary focus on hardware. We are not looking for a specialist for a narrow field like PCB layout engineering. Instead, you will contribute to the development of new IMSE solutions, guide customers, and help translate verified methods and best practices into high-quality content for our TactoTek Online knowledge transfer platform.
Key Responsibilities
Technology and Solution Development
Development of new IMSE solutions
Participate in IMSE research, method development, and verification from a hardware perspective
Collaborate with multidisciplinary experts (mechanics, illumination, software, materials) to create manufacturable and robust solutions
Knowledge Transfer and Customer Collaboration
Conduct customer trainings and provide technical guidance
Create and maintain high-quality content for TactoTek Online, enabling customers to design and implement IMSE solutions independently
Support internal and external stakeholders by documenting verified design methods and practices
Documentation and Requirements
Prepare design specifications and related technical documentation for manufacturing
Ensure that new design practices and IMSE methods are properly validated and communicated
Design for Manufacturing
Ensure that electronics-related IMSE concepts meet manufacturing feasibility, reliability, and quality requirements
Contribute to improving design methods, tools, and processes
We Expect You to Have
BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field
Solid industry experience in multidisciplinary hardware development
Strong capability to work across domains with mechanics, illumination, materials, and software colleagues
Hands-on mindset and ability to work independently in laboratory, prototype, and R&D environments
Proficiency with electronics design tools such as Altium, Mentor, Eagle, or similar
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Clear communication and technical writing skills in English
Additional Beneficial Competences
Understanding of material technologies is a big benefit
Software skills (e.g., scripting, embedded basics)
EMC knowledge
Printed electronics background
Basic understanding of illumination design
Understanding of physics and multiphysics behavior
Experience in conducting trainings or workshops
