Our mission is to innovate and enable product designs that push the boundaries of structural electronics across multiple industries. We’re seeking a dynamic, technically-skilled individual to help us lead customer engagement efforts and support the sales team by providing cutting-edge engineering solutions.
Job Overview:
As the IMSE Solution Architect, you will be part of our growing Engineering & Customer Engagement team. You will be responsible for guiding customers through the entire product lifecycle—from initial ideation to final production—using your engineering expertise and deep understanding of TactoTek's IMSE technology. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering innovation and customer success, ensuring that our solutions are manufacturable, scalable, and aligned with client needs.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Technical Leadership & Engineering Support
Leverage 3D modeling, 2D drawing, and system engineering skills to create and refine product designs.
Use structural simulations, optical simulations, and mold filling simulations to validate and optimize designs.
Ensure designs meet technical specifications through rigorous engineering validation and verification processes.
Contribute to TactoTek’s core technology advancements by sharing insights and developing innovative solutions.
Customer Engagement & Project Management
Serve as the primary technical liaison, working directly with customers to guide them from concept ideation to prototype development.
Manage Bill of Materials (BOM) to align with project cost, material, and manufacturing requirements.
Lead prototyping efforts, ensuring that customer needs are met with manufacturable, scalable designs.
Maintain strong relationships with customers through clear, effective communication and regular engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
Industry Expertise & Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration
Stay on top of trends across multiple industries, including automotive, aerospace, and consumer products, to provide innovative solutions that align with diverse market demands.
Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, sales, technology lab) to ensure smooth project execution and client satisfaction.
Present technical information clearly and persuasively to a range of stakeholders, from engineers to senior management.
Production Process Mastery
Develop an in-depth understanding of TactoTek’s IMSE manufacturing process, ensuring that product designs can be scaled effectively for production.
Work closely with technology development lab teams to ensure manufacturability of designs and seamless integration of client requirements.
We expect you to have:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required (Master’s degree is a plus but not necessary).
5+ years of experience in product design, system engineering, or mechanical engineering roles.
Proficiency in CAD tools (3D and 2D), with demonstrated experience in simulation methods (FEA, optical, mold flow).
Experience with engineering cost management and CAPEX planning.
Familiarity with optical engineering is a bonus.
Experience in managing cross-functional projects, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Travel & Training
Willingness to travel for up to one month of training in Finland, developing a deep technical understanding of TactoTek’s IMSE processes at our lab.
Flexibility to travel within the US for client meetings, tech shows, and industry events to represent TactoTek and provide technical support.
