MECHANICAL ENGINEER, FINLAND
TactoTek is on a mission to transform the global electronics industry by developing and licensing injection molded smart structure (IMSE™) technologies that enable brands to create differentiated and compelling user experiences.
We are expanding our Engineering Team and seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to customer projects and IMSE technology development. The primary location of the position is in Oulu, Finland.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Mechanics design for Injection Molded Structural Electronics (IMSE) plastic parts
Creating design concepts for global brands in cooperation with customer’s teams
Cooperating with engineering teams, simulation experts, and tooling designers to verify designs
Troubleshooting mechanics related issues during the manufacturing of IMSE products and related manufacturing process improvements (Thermoforming & Injection Molding)
Researching and testing new methodologies for developing and applying IMSE technology using simulations and analysis tools.
We expect you to have:
B.Sc. or higher level education from mechanical engineering
Min. 3 years of applicable design experience
Hands-on and proactive attitude
Ability to work both independently and in close cooperation with cross-functional project teams
Understanding of various material characteristics and their interactions
Understanding of tolerances, tolerance chains (dimensional and geometrical), and tolerance calculations
Familiarity with the design process and design for manufacturing
Experience with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Catia
Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Additional beneficial competences::
Familiarity with IML or FIM technologies
Previous position in a company in the automotive field.
Exposure to printed electronics
Mechanical simulations and analysis (FEM Moldflow) experience
Understanding of both perceived and visual quality in mechanics
Knowledge of structural calculations like thermal expansion, hardness (surface treatments and surface quality), heat transfer, and plastics engineering
